My  great great great grandmother, Mary aka Me-Le, is now framed and hanging over my fireplce...I love seeing her every time I enter the room and I am soooooo BLESSED to have this photo of her! What heartbreaks and joy she could tell me about her life...I wish I could sit and talk to her for just an hour...

Some blues I bought weeks ago to save for my birthday as a treat to myself.....I've had them waiting patiently in the envelope til today...Some vintage pillow ticking, a sweet kitty cat, needle books, old early blues, and acorn of early fabrics...

2 wonderful Angela Hillstrom pcs...and one Schneeman acorn....

The sweet kitty was made by Alecia Maynard and I also got the vintage pillow ticking from her...

Along with my favorite Philosophy fragrance, cards, flowers, and lunch! Along with a phone call from Taylor... It's been a good birthday!

The LORD has BLESSED me with 47 years...I pray for many more!!

 I'M SO EXCITED I COULD CRY!!!!! I have wanted to do this for so long and kept putting it off....Last weekend on Shutterfly they had a special and I chose the free 16x20...I had been wanting a big picture of my 3 great grandmother to hang over my fireplace....We only have a small photo taken from a tintype and don't always know how it will come out when enlarged... I had no expectations so I wouldn't be disappointed....Well, here she is in a 16x20 size.....Mary Polly Sitz Lankford..I've also heard her called Nellie....Her Native American name was Mele or Me-Le..From Monteagle Mountain (Grundy County Tennessee)....I have always been soooo intrigued by her and thought she had the sweetest face....It touches my heart to finally have a large picture of her and that she is not forgotten by so many of her Lankford descendants.....

A bit of Autumn~~Memories of last year......

It is the beginning of a 4 day autumn break weekend...I hope to get a huge bit of my fall decorating finished this weekend if all goes as planned...

Do you remember what it looked like last year??? Yeah, I didn't do any fall decorating last year....Whew! Thank goodness that is behind us!!! :) I'm so thankful for a floor to walk on!!

Oh, it's the simple things in life...I walked by and had to sigh...All of our shoes are back together...Yesterday I was sitting at my computer and I hear a key in the door...I asked myself "Why is Tim home in the middle of the day?"...The door opens and MY BABY GIRL walks in from Charleston...She hasn't been home since she left back in August...She wanted to surprise us...I had spoken to her earlier and she was going to a meeting...ha! Actually she was heading out of town toward Augusta...She started crying and i in return started crying...Our hug seemed like forever....We were a mess!! I think she missed me..lol

So far, we have had haircuts this morning and fixing to go to lunch like we did all the time when she lived at home.... One more evening and she will be heading back to Charleston...:(

Let the Fall decorating begin..........:)

 

I hope to get to some autumn decorating this week....I have been delayed due to a little boy running a temp...But he went back to school today!! The totes  are sitting and waiting on me...:)
